This symbol indicates a warning for potential hazards that, if not heeded, may lead to death, severe injury, or property damage. Please read this guide carefully as it contains essential safety and health information pertaining to the product you have acquired.

WARNING: Failure to correctly set up, utilize, and maintain this product may result in an increased risk of severe injuries, fatalities, property damage, or harm to the product or associated accessories. Exercise caution when utilizing the product during both day and night.

  • Always remain vigilant of your surroundings to prevent harm to yourself and others.
  • Familiarize yourself with these instructions.
  • Retain these instructions.
  • Pay careful attention to all warnings.
  • Adhere to all of our instructions.
  • Only use a dry cloth to clean your shade.
  • Avoid installing your shades near heat sources, including but not limited to radiators, stoves, air conditioning exhaust, or other sources that generate heat.
  • Safeguard the battery charging power cord from being stepped on or squeezed, especially at the plugs.
  • Disconnect the charging cable during lightning storms or when it remains unused for extended periods.
  • Entrust all servicing to qualified personnel from the UBlockout support team. Servicing becomes necessary when the apparatus has suffered any form of damage, such as a damaged power-supply cord or plug, liquid spillage, objects falling onto or against the product, exposure to rain or moisture, abnormal operation, or accidental dropping.

GENERAL PRODUCT SAFETY

General Safety Precautions

  • ALWAYS read and follow the installation instructions provided.
  • ALWAYS use the product solely for its intended purpose.
  • NEVER let children under the age of 13 operate the product, regardless of where the product is installed.
  • ALWAYS keep the product out of reach of children and pets.
  • NEVER place a child’s crib or bed underneath the product.
  • NEVER place objects that could be climbed by children under the product.
  • NEVER use the product near water, sources of moisture, or other liquids.
  • ALWAYS keep the window shade and components away from open flames, heat sources, and flammable materials.

Installation Risk - Top Cover & Side Cover Fall Risk

  • If the Roller Cover and/or Side Covers are not properly installed and secured there is a serious risk of personal and property injury should these items fall.
  • Roller Covers and/or side covers should firmly lock into place when installed correctly.
  • If the Roller Cover and/or Side Cover is not firmly secured during the installation or at any time , please immediately remove the roller Cover and/or side covers and contact UBlockout support.

Strangulation Hazard

  • WARNING: Strings and cords can cause strangulation.
  • Do NOT leave product’s internal components, such as strings or cords, unattended during the installation process.
  • If product’s frame covers are incorrectly installed, internal components may present strangulation hazards.
  • NEVER leave the area unattended without product’s frame covers correctly installed per product instructions.

Fall Hazard

  • ALWAYS take precautions to prevent falls and ensure the area is clear of obstacles.
  • NEVER move around in a dark environment when the product’s shades are closed or without a light on.
  • NEVER leave children unattended in a room with the product’s shades closed or without having a means to closely monitor them.

PRODUCT SAFETY DURING INSTALLATION

Safety when working near windows:

  • NEVER lean on windows during the installation process.
  • Take precautions to avoid injury from broken glass when working near windows.
  • Be cautious of risks of falling from heights, such as through a window or other height.
  • Use protective barriers or coverings when necessary.
  • Do NOT touch, lean against, or apply any force or tools to windows in any way, even if they are covered.There can be a risk of injury.
  • ALWAYS use personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, protectivecut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection.

Safety hazards related to unpackaging the product:

  • ALWAYS exercise caution when unboxing the product to avoid injury from packaging materials, sharp edges,moving components, or pinch hazards.
  • ALWAYS follow proper handling techniques when handling packaging, including and not limited to removingand disposing packaging and wearing gloves.

Standing on Stepladders:

  • WARNING: ALWAYS use step ladders in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Not followingmanufacturer’s instructions can result in injury.
  • NEVER leave ladders unattended, especially near children.

Safety and use of tools, including hand tools and power tools:

  • WARNING: ALWAYS use tools, including hand tools and power tools, in accordance with the manufacturer'sinstructions. Not following manufacturer’s instructions can result in injury.
  • Do not use tools, including hand tools and power tools, unless you have the required knowledge andexperience to operate them safely.
  • ALWAYS use personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, protectivecut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Exercise caution when drilling to avoid personal injury or damage to the window shade and surrounding surfaces.

Safety and Home Automation use:

  • Use of product with a home automation system may present risks to the user(s). Follow instructions andguidelines provided by the home automation system manufacturer.

Product not suited to any type of load bearing:

  • This product has not been manufacturer, designed, or intended to bear loads or support weight. ALWAYS usethe product as intended, per the product’s instructions.

Flammability:

  • WARNING: Take precautions to prevent fire hazards.
  • ALWAYS keep the window shade and components away from open flames, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  • Do NOT place candles or any heat-emitting devices near the window shades, cables, or other associatedcomponents.

Breakable Components:

  • Handle the product with care to avoid damage to fragile parts.
  • Avoid applying excessive force that may cause detachment of components, leading to potential injury.

Moving components

  • Ensure the product is completely assembled before use.
  • Beware of potential pinch hazards relating to the product’s use.
  • Do NOT operate the product outside the acceptable voltage, duration, temperature, or other operating boundsset by the motor manufacturer.

Not Following Safety Warnings:

  • Follow all safety warnings provided here or with other product documentation.

Improper Installation:

  • Ensure proper installation of the product according to the instructions. If you do not have assistance froma second person, do NOT attempt to perform any actions requiring two people to complete them safely.
  • Improper installation may compromise safety of main users and secondary users, and product functionality.
  • If uncertain about the installation process, seek professional assistance. Do NOT leave product partiallyinstalled.

Structural Integrity due to Incorrect Installation:

  • Incorrect or incomplete installation may affect the structural integrity of the product and compromise its performance and safety. Follow the installation instructions carefully and until completion to avoid unstable or unsafe situations.

Choking Hazard Warning:

  • Choking Hazard - Small Parts. Keep out of reach of children. This product contains small parts that maypose a choking hazard, particularly for young children.

Electrical Safety Warning:

  • Risk of Electric Shock. NEVER use the product near water, sources of moisture, or other liquids.
  • NEVER submerge the product or any components, including power sources and charging cables.
  • ALWAYS disconnect any power sources before performing any maintenance or repairs.

Suffocation Risk Warning:

  • Suffocation Hazard. The packaging material for the product may include plastic bags that can pose asuffocation risk, especially to children. Keep plastic bags away from children. Do NOT use the bags incribs, beds, or playpens.

Sharp Object Warning:

  • Sharp Object. Use with caution. Keep out of reach of children. Exercise caution when handling the product,its components, and its accessories, as they may have sharp edges or points.

BATTERY SAFETY

  • The following warnings relate to the rechargeable battery within motorized blackout shades and accompanying remote:
  • Risk of fire, explosion, and injury. Do NOT expose the battery to extreme heat or fire.
  • Do NOT disassemble, crush, puncture, or damage the battery. It may result in release of hazardous materials, fire, or personal injury.
  • Keep the battery away from children and pets. It may pose a choking hazard or lead to injury if swallowed.
  • Use only the provided or recommended charging accessories. Using incompatible chargers or cables may damage the battery or cause overheating.
  • Dispose of the battery according to local regulations. Do not throw it in the trash. Recycle or dispose of it at designated battery recycling facilities.
  • If you experience any product abnormalities such as overheating, swelling, or leakage, stop using the product immediately and contact UBlockout customer support.

There may be safety hazards in addition to those stated in this notice. Look out for saftey hazards of anyform and use common sense during installation and product usage. ALWAYS exercise caution and consider allpotential risks associated with the installation process. Disregarding safety warnings or failure to usecommon sense could result in injury or damage to the product or your property. Please dispose of used batteries properly

When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local authorities. Some collection points accept products for free.
